Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. Is Life Coaching and Mental Health Counseling the same thing? 

   No! Unless a coach is also a licensed mental health professional we cannot provide mental health services. But I am happy to help locate and work with a client's therapist to achieve the best possible outcome.

2. What is the difference between a Life Coach and Mental Health Professional?

   A life coach helps clients overcome current obstacles to achieve their goals, while a mental health professional addresses past issues affecting those goals.

3. How do I know if coaching is right for me?

    A free 15 minute consultation can help you explore if coaching is the right step for you.

4. How do I prepare for a session? 

  • Have an idea of what your goal(s) or area of focus will be.

  • Fill out any needed forms.

  • Be prepared to have a weekly assignment. 

  • Get pumped to challenge yourself weekly to reach your full potential. 

  • Try to have a quiet place to attend your session.

  • Have an open mind and heart.

  • Expect for your life to change for the better. 

5. What topics are covered in the coaching sessions?
  Sessions may include:

  • Career exploration

  • Workplace challenges and preparation

  • How to handle workplace discrimination

  • Confidence building

  • Goal setting and accountability

  • Overcoming personal obstacles

 

6. How long is each program or session?

  Coaching sessions can either last 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on the time frame selected at the time of scheduling. Program lengths vary, but each is designed to provide structured support over a set period of time. As of now the following program time lengths are as follows: 

  • F.I.R.E. Teens Mentorship Program-8 weeks 

  • HireAcademy (Part 1)-6 weeks and each class last 90 minutes

  • HireAcademy (Part 2)-TBD

  • Workplace Discrimination-TBD

7. What ages are the teen programs for?

  Ages 13-19

 

8. Will the teen programs be offered to adults? 

  Yes! While my main focus at the moment is preparing teens for a successful career, I will eventually open HireAcademy to adult learners. In the interim, feel free to schedule a coaching session with me so I can assist you in your career needs. 

 

9. What is the difference between HireAcademy 1 and HireAcademy 2?

  • HireAcademy 1 focuses on building a strong foundation to land a job. I even teach interviewing skills that most don't learn until they are well into their work life. I also work on confidence building, goal-setting, and advance career readiness.

  • HireAcademy 2 is a higher-level program focused on deeper growth, clarity, and taking action toward long-term success when employment is obtained.

10. Do parents need to be involved in the teen programs?
  Initially yes! The F.I.R.E. Teens program requires a parent or guardian to attend the info session either in person or online. With other programs such as HireAcademy, parental involvement is strongly encouraged, especially in the beginning, to ensure alignment and support.

 

11. What results can I expect?
  Clients often experience:
